Interested in booking a professional photography session for your baby, family or pet? Read our FAQ’s and Contact Us today to make your booking.
How do I book a professional photography session?
You can book directly by calling me on 086 0403 474 or on the website by filling out the Contact form. Alternatively, by sending an email to info@pitterpatterstudios.com.
How long will the photo shoot take?
Newborn photo shoots are fully baby led so we will work around your baby’s needs. On average, they usually take about 2 hours.
For all other baby, family or pet sessions, please allow 1 hour.
Where do sessions take place?
Most sessions are held at our professional photography studio in Kilmessan, Co. Meath. We also offer on-location shoots for pets – just let us know your preference.
When should I book?
If you would like to book in for a newborn shoot, I strongly recommend making the booking before the baby arrives. This will ensure my availability & leave you one less thing to worry about when your baby arrives. If you contact me after your 20 week scan, I will make the booking based on your due date but we can easily change this date if needed if baby comes early or late.
For all other photography sessions, reach out today to have a chat about the best time book your session for.
What should we wear for the session?
Your outfits can set the mood and make a big difference in your final images. Stick to neutral, soft tones (cream, beige, pastels) for a timeless look. Avoid big logos, loud patterns, and bright neon colours. Everyone wearing simple white or black t-shirts with blue jeans works great for family sessions & draws attention to faces. However, when coordinating outfits, they don’t need to match identically – think of complementary tones.
How do I choose the images I want to buy?
1-2 weeks after your photo shoot, we will do a gallery reveal session. During this, I will assist you in choosing what images & products you want.
How long does it take to receive my photos?
We will do a gallery reveal session within 1–2 weeks for you to choose your images. Your products will then be available for collection within 2–3 weeks.
What products can I buy containing my favourite images from the session?
I have a beautiful selection of professional photography products for you to choose from. These include prints, canvas, birch wood photo blocks, framed photos, photo album, print box or digital prints. A full list of products available can be found in the Products section on the website. Additionally, I have samples of all my products available to view in my studio.
Can we get pictures with parents and siblings too?
Of course – these moments are for everyone – parent & sibling shots are always included as part of your session at no extra cost.
What happens if my child/ pet doesn’t cooperate on the day?
Don’t worry – it happens! Sessions are relaxed and baby/ child/ pet-led. We take breaks when needed and go at a gentle pace. Patience and a calm environment go a long way. If the baby/ child/ pet really isn’t settling, we will reschedule for another day, at no additional cost to you.
Do I have to order prints through you?
We highly recommend it! We use professional labs to ensure the best quality. Digital files are great to have, but there’s nothing like holding a beautifully printed image or seeing your photo framed on the wall. That’s why our packages are designed to provide digital copies of the prints that you pick.
Will my baby be safe?
Yes safety is my number one priority during all photo shoots. I’ve completed newborn safety training course and I will only ever attempt to get an image that is safe to get.
When is the best time for a newborn shoot?
Ideally done within the first 2 weeks while baby is especially sleepy, tiny & able to curl up into those extra cute poses. If you’ve already missed this stage, don’t worry, we can still do a slightly adopted version of the session to suit baby’s age.
I missed the window for a newborn photo shoot, when is the best time to get my baby photographed now?
The best time for a baby photoshoot after newborn stage is around 3 months when they first start to smile, a sitter session when baby gets confident sitting up on their own or a 1st birthday photoshoot. We’ll also include sibling and family images.
Will the baby be cold during the shoot?
Don’t worry, your little one will not be cold as I have a thermostat in the studio which will be set at an appropriate temperature for the shoot and the babies age.
The studio can get very warm, especially during a newborn shoot, as we need to keep baby warm and cosy. So please wear light clothing yourself so you don’t overheat!
Do you edit the images afterwards?
Yes I retouch all my images in post production to ensure everyone will look their best in their portraits.
Do I need props or outfits?
No you don’t need to bring anything as I have a wide selection of hats, headbands, outfits and props in the studio. If you have something of sentimental value that you would like included in the photo shoot, please feel free to bring this along and I’ll use that too.
What happens if I need to reschedule?
Life happens! Just let us know as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to reschedule your session. We can move your booking deposit to secure a new date. We’re flexible and understanding – especially with little ones!
